Police request assistance with attempted abduction investigation

On Friday, September 4, 2009, at 12:30 p.m., police were contacted by the victim’s parents for an attempted abduction in Adam’s Park, in the Lawson Road/Port Union Road area.

It is reported that:

- on Thursday, September 3, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., a 10-year-old boy was in the park, with his brother, when he was approached by a man who had been waiting in the area,

- the man grabbed the victim’s arm and tried to drag him from the playground,

- the victim called out for help and three kids came to assist,

- the man was scared off and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as 5’9″-5’10″, medium build, brown, with black hair pulled back into a ponytail, and a moustache. He was last seen wearing a dark-blue leather jacket with a silhouette of a person holding a baseball bat on the front left chest, a multi-colored striped, oversized baseball cap with the letter “C”, brown cargo shorts and sandals.
